Holistic Approach
You have the Inner Power to create health and wellness in your life. Achieving this state of optimal well-being means attaining balance as a whole person, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This holistic approach to health involves the integration of all inner aspects and is an ongoing, dynamic process.
Your Health is Your Responsibility
Many have been brought up to think that health depends on the healthcare received. The truth is, health is your responsibility. You are the only person who can make the lifestyle decisions that contribute to your well-being. You are the one who takes the steps to preserve your health and promote your wellness. Only you have the power to create wellness from within and your power lies in the choices you make every day. Expand these choices beyond the physical and attain higher states of well-being.
Your Wellness Team
To create wellness, build an effective team, put yourself in charge and take action. Your inner team consists of your body, mind and Spirit. Your physical body includes the five senses which enable you to touch, see, hear, smell and taste the world around you. Open your senses and connect with Nature. Listen to your Inner Wisdom.
Your emotional state is the full range of emotions from fear and anger to love and joy. Witness your emotional state. Choose your responses to events. Allow emotions to flow without blocking or resisting.
Your mental health is your choice. Observe thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, analyses, self judgment and outward projections. Be thoughtful and compassionate toward self and others. Choose mindful observation of your thoughts. Sow the mental seeds for positive outcomes. Make mental health a moment to moment practice.
Your spiritual self is your relationship with yourself, your creativity, your life purpose and your relationship with
a Power greater than yourself, whether you view this Power as Universal energy, Source or Nature. Enhance your spiritual life by practicing that which strengthens your strengths.
Your outer team will also take you closer to the wellness you desire. to reach your wellness goals you must first define what wellness is for you. Identify and communicate your intentions to the practitioners with whom you choose to work. Intention drives energy, so it is essential that you align with the practitioners on your team.
Taking the First Step
Once you have determined your personal wellness intentions, decide what changes you must make to achieve them. Be patient with yourself. Creating wellness is an ongoing process. As you make more health enhancing choices, you gradually shift into higher states of wellness. When you change because you genuinely want to experience the positive results of change, you must succeed.
The Patient Practitioner Relationship
Health and wellness facilitation is available from a wide variety of practitioners. Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Homeopathic practitioners, Naturopathic and Medical Doctors and are just a few. No one professional has all the answers for all conditions. Discovering what each has to offer will expand your choices. No matter what type or how many practitioners you choose, your voice and your actions are essential to your health.
Communication is a key ingredient to manifesting the healing and transformation you seek. Verbalize your concerns to your wellness practitioner. Ask questions. Communicate your needs and what is important to you. Describe your experiences as they are for you. Share what is going on in your life and how you feel about it.
